The worst thing is that we all can see what media and myths blown out of proportion can do to history.
I guess JFK was not particularly bad, but rather he was good-for-nothing. I remember that Kremi posted something - back in the day when we had this discussion - that JFK prevented the WWIII. A huge myth again. Even for those who think so - it's worth remembering that prior to his peace endeavors he initiated the Bay of Pigs adventure, so the rest was the logical continuation.
By the time JFK was assasinated we had over 15,000 military personnele stationed in South 'Nam, but his successor is still blamed for the war.
Some ppl hate on JFK 'cause he allegedly stirred all this so-called anti-racist movement, but as far as my history knowledge goes - he never did even that.
Anyway, Reagan was a great President, no matter what. The last great one, unfortunately...

What many people don't know is that his brother pushed for more civil rights than JFK ever did. And the funny thing is, John could never get any of them passed through Congress. Only after he died did LBJ bring the EXACT same bills to Congress and get nearly everyone of them passed. Robert and LBJ were the fighters for Civil Rights.....JFK was just along fof the ride.

JFK inherited Vietnam from Ike and Robert McNamera admited in his book a few years ago that they made a mistake accepting the briefs from Ike's people at face value. They pretty much challenged or disagreed with everything else that Ike and his cabinet did, but they accepted the "domino theory" regarding Communist expansion at face value.
The government's move toward civil rights actually began in the Truman Administration. It is just that the most progress and best leaders for civil rights (MLK) came during JFK's Administration.
What JFK did do was establish the Peace Corps, began a 30 year embargo of Cuba (stupid that it is still going) and jump start the space program like no other President since him.

I disagree. JFK was not a true civil rights president. Again, his brother was pushing him into becomming one, however he died before that happend. I beileve major progress didn't take effect untill LBJ. And the funny thing was how he got the bills pasted. LBJ would go to Congress with JFK's EXACT proposals and say "we need to ratify this in the name of our fallen President.....This is what he wanted". And they actually passed. Even after JFK repeated attemps while alive.
Ok enough of this civil rights stuff........

I "hate" very few people - mostly some thieves from CEG. I have just chosen to ignore your posts, regardless of topic due to having read some of your unimformed/uneducated posts. The trend lately has been that there have been a lot of new CEGers who act like they know everything. They have owned the car for 6 months, jump on CEG and claim "Bosal is the best because the manufacturer said so." and crap like "Have you ever had (insert mod)? If no, then you don't know what you are talking about." This type of attitude has become prevalent lately and "old" CEGers have gotten more and more annoyed. It has nothing to do with age. There are young CEGers that admit they know nothing and post asking for advice/help. They read posts, show up at meets to get to know CEGers and learn how the car works, how to mod it, etc. As many have stated, stop pretending to know more than you actually do. It's that simple. Hope this post not only opened your eyes, but those of some other CEGers who act like they know more than they actually do. Consider yourself and many others lucky. If some of the other Moderators were in control, 75% of current CEGers would be banned!
