Twin turbo is not going to happen. The rear bank is too close to the firewall. It would take major mods to move the sheetmetal, and it would have to be a liquid cooled turbo. As for a single turbo, that is possible. Relocate the battery (like for the SC install) have headers done up, and go from there.

That car looks similar to a Lotus Elise. Anyone else think so??

now that i think about it, that car *really* should have upwards of 400bhp. I mean, twin turbos... If you're going to build a whole chassis, why not beef up the internal goodies so you can run 14 lbs of boost?

That car has internals ... I am assuming that due to it's rediculously low weight, anything more would be overkill. Terry can tell you ... he made a commnent once about the build quality of that car if I am not mistaken. He needs to take a break more often and come back and post on the this board smile

what about running the second turbo in series and not in parallel? i bet you could squeeze one in that way, if you really want to run two... as far as terry, i am not one to comment on his behalf, but i believe his absense from the board is due to family matters...

The horsepower rating for a european duratech is 167 hp. I think that it's pretty ipressive that they went up to 310 hp. I believe that the guy who ownes the company used to be a designer for lotus, so that's why they look the same. I e-mailed them some time ago about details of the internals, but never got a response. frown

I think the Judge is correct. The major problem will be packaging the turbos. Room under the hood is tight and the best performace will come if the turbo is very close to the point where the ehaust exits the engine ... otherwise you loose heat (energy) needed to drive the turbo(s).

The second packaging problem involves routing the air from the turbo to the inlet. Too long a path will contribute to lag. Finally, you probably will want an intercooler (compressing air adds heat)and where the heck are you going to mount one?

If (and that a big if) you solve the above, you still need to conquer the same problems as the Vortech crowd with boost limits (6 or so psi will probably be OK, more boost = more power = more of a chance for things to go BOOM) and the inherent limits of no limited slip, somewhat marginal clutch, and weak transmision

So, at this point, the best forced induction choice is the Vortech .. one compressor to package and the engineering has already been done. Purists will argue the relative merits of a turbo over a supercharger .. that's not relevent her ... packaging is the driving factor. Want a turbo? Down-size to a Z-Tec, put in 8.5 to 1 pistons, O-ring the head, add a turbo (about 14 - 16 pounds of boost sounds good), add an intercooler, and then beef the transmission and drive train. Or you could buy another car!
