i love my kkm the sound and the performance.noticed a big difference over stock.but i haven't tried the k&n.

The drop-in? K&N doesn't make a clip in that attaches Open-air element to the MAF. People use *literally* clips to hold in place or modify the old filter holder.

Heres some pics of a modified airbox for improved airflow. Notice that this is on the bottom (unfiltered) side of the airbox. (Top half is "cleaned" air which goes to intake.)



I already have the K&N, but I'll have to cut the holes in the box- sounds like a good idea.
