I hate to say it, but the RSX type S is a really well done car. But for the price it is wayyyy out of our segment(price). What is in our segement is the Civic SI which is slower than a stock Jeep Cherokee...

I've seen them at the track runnin' 14.7-14.8 stock at MIR. They are fast little cars. Race him anyway, he may make a mistake!

No way in hell youre gonna beat this guy. Your mods, while nice, dont really help that much in terms of your acceleration. Even stock, he'd have you with ease. Plus the K series responds amazingly well to bolt ons for a motor that STOCK produces 100 hp/liter. I learned this the hard way by racing one... Youll probably pull hard from the hole shot, through first gear, but as soon as you shift, watch out! He'll still have the strongest 1500 rpm of his powerband to go. It only gets worse from there on out... The race will be just like this... (keep you window down for greatest effect)
squealing tires sounds from the SVT as you pull half a length chirp from your tires as the rsx breaks even 8000 rpm from the k series in vtec (loud as hell as he passes you) chirp from the rsx tires (you think you have hope since your both in second) rsx pulls away with ease and makes you wonder what happened to all of that torque your V6 is supposed to produce
Too bad i suppose

Raced my friend in a stock 2004 RSX type S in my 3L SVT and I embarressed it off the line by 3 cars and he never caught up. My SVT Contour is putting down over 190fwhp though and stock they put down 165fwhp so you have your work cut out for you.

the RSX will own you. Hands down, considering the RSX-S has a 6 speed transmission and a 200HP engine stock. With the performance mods he has, his pickup will be a lot faster then yours. That 6 speed transmission will make all of the difference. Acura's engines are beautifully put together.

I'm not denying the fact the rsx will beat him, but just because it's a 6 speed doesn't mean it's faster. Gearing is more important, even if you had just three gears. In fact, a 6 speed could make times slower if the rsx has to shift more times in the 1/4 mile than another car.

Yeah gearing is everything, but what is trying to be stated is that the gearing in the rsx's 6 is very good, it will give him an advantage.

but you are forgetting, there may be more gears, but those gears have higher ratio's meaning more torque in each gear. Granted he will have to shift a little more, but the extra torque he is going tog et out of those gears will make up for it and then some.
