Im sorry if this question has been answered many, many times. I wanted to know what is the best intake setup for SVT Contours? And where can i get it. Thanks!

KKM is the intake of choice.
Pros: great sound, great look, and about 4-6HP at the wheels
Cons: Prone to heatsoak (buy or make a heatshield)
Purchased at KKM, SP Motorsports, others - both on the net

K&N is also a decent choice.
Pros: retains stock setup, about 2HP
Cons: none
Purchased about anywhere

Another Pro of the K&N.

Lets you retain the stock MAF screen. (Which helps straighten the air out for the stock MAF sensor)

KKM is nice, but on the dyno I have had similar gains (actually slightly better curves in most cases) w/ just the K&N drop-in clipped to the MAF (or cut the stock airbox down to just a ring that holds the filter on) and the sound is similar to the KKM. Not trying to knock the KKM, but a drop-in K&N is about 1/2 the price if not less.

It's all about balance.

I never heard a KKM but my K/N works great with my modifed housing. Take a hacksaw and cut the front filter cover in half, leaving enough meat to allow the front cover to clip onto the base without causing it to distort.

It sounds really nasty and made a somewhat noticeable difference in the butt-dyno and in MPG. Beware that the motor turns to a total dog in summer bumper/bumper traffic...needs a CAI solution.

Warren,
not trying to take any business away from you! (I actually don't like the guys at K&N)
The KKM looks much nicer, but a K&N filter just clipped to the MAF w/ out the airbox will give similar gains.

How do you do this? Any pics?
I don't really understand how this is done, perhaps you can show me pics or explain it a bit better.
Thanks

On your SE you have a different airbox than what is on the SVT. You can achieve some gains by going with a K&N drop-in (reusable) filter element. Also Cut some 1 1/2" diameter holes in the bottom/side of your airbox to increase circulation, or remove the bottom of the airbox completely and just wire tie the filter element to the top part. Consider pulling all the air resonator baffles out of your fenderwell to get more cool air into the air box through that rubber coupling. A How-To for improving the fenderwell air flow is at: http://www.contour.org/mods/showfaq.pl?howto/svtinduction

Heres some pics of a modified airbox for improved airflow. Notice that this is on the bottom (unfiltered) side of the airbox. (Top half is "cleaned" air which goes to intake.)
