I keep hearing these vague references to problems with aluminum flywheels. Pretty much every racer I know will run an aluminum flywheel, regardless of the cost, if the class rules allow it and one is available for the vehicle. I have never heard of a problem with an aluminim flywheel, other than burning of the friction surface caused by poor clutch usage.
Has anyone here ever had a problem with an aluminum flywheel?
FYI... I'm not being sarcastic, just curious.
