BTW, I KNOW I POSTED THIS IN ZETEC MAINTENANCE ALSO. I JUST NEED THE MOST HELP I CAN GET BECAUSE MY CAR IS A DAILY DRIVER AND IT TAKES ABOUT $25 TO FILL THE TANK OVER HERE ($2.19 A GALLON)


Please tell me what is going on. What can i do to fix it.

I installed my CTA Motorsports Intake on Mermorial Day and saturday i filled my tank (did 211.7 miles with that tank) with mid-grade gas (what i normally use) and this morning my mom asked to borrow it and i let her and it was full and all she did was take my lil bro to baseball practice and then to the movies with him and when she comes back i have a little less than 3/4 tank left and there was only 41 miles on the trip meter!! (BTW my mom drives like a grandma) And i left it with about 15 miles on the trip meter last night!!

And yesterday before i filled up my tank it kept on idling or something n i would have to accelerate a little more so it can go and i was also checking how much gas i had and it would be goin up and down.

BTW i also did the Breather mod friday (take the hose off the intake and cover intake tube with 3/8" hose cover and then buy a breather to put it where the hose connects to the valve cover)

Please tell me whats goin on

What is going on????

Sounds like an intake leak. Find the leak and it'll be good. And unless you have a chip, just use 87 octane and quit wasting your money.

Where can there be a leak? I have the CTA Intake i covered the tube with the 3/8" hose cover and put the breather on the valve cover. Should i just put the hose back on and return the Breather to Advance Auto Parts?

Where could there not be a leak? Any place where you changed the stock intake, there could be a leak. Including where you capped the intake off, and where the intake attaches to the TB, where it connects the middle piece, and where the MAF and filter connect.

But i kinda noticed it after i did the Breather mod. Should i take it off or just check everything else first?

What breather mod? Check everything first, then start taking the car back to stock, if need be.

I think the "breather mod" is pointless and doesn't really do anything. So if it caused a problem, then change it back.

I doubt it would...are you sure your MAF is not a lil dirty?

What mileage were you getting prior to the CTA install? This may help.

How one is supposed to check his HAI for leakages? Details appreciated.
