For those of you with a borla i was wondering how it is holding up for you and if you are pleased with it.
I am thinking about getting one and i searched and went through lots of the old posts but i was only seeing arguments between owners of the different exhausts.
Is the piping differnet than stock? i was looking at the pictures online and the piping looked nearly the same and the muffler its self looked smaller?
also what are the expected gains from this mod on a stock csvt?
thanks guys

I have had mine for about a year and I love it. I just bought a high flow Y pipe to add to my exhaust. Borla exhaust rocks.

I love it, although if I had it to do over again, I'd go with the trubendz exhaust with Borla mufflers. Borla dyno

I've had mine for a few years, now, and it still sounds good and works well (whatever that means) but I think it may have a small leak/crack at the rear Y-split, as there is a lot of carbon deposit in that area. The slip-joints seem to be holding up fine.

The piping follows pretty much the same path, but it is 2.25" before the rear Y and the bends are smoother. The muffler sits where the old resonator used to be, and it is 2.25" all the way through, unlike the choking, restrictive resonator it replaces. The small cans at the rear are, I think, resonator cans. Overall, the system is certainly less restrictive than stock.

I've always loved the sound. A subtle intonation of power, rather than a ricey rasp.

I've also loved the low-end gains. Peak, high-rpm hp gains not as good as some other systems, but overall I think it boosts the performance where this car needs it most.

My humble, biased, basically unqualified observations.

Good point roger.

From somebody who has had both the trubendz and the borla, they are very different systems. The trubendz is quite loud and produces good gains up top, but sacrifices low end power just a bit. It is also cheap and shows this, the craftmanship is good but not wonderful, and the tips are ugly imo.

The borla gives more low end grunt and can be pricier, but the system is absolutely beautiful. It looks like it would last for far longer than the trubendz. The borla has a very deep sound and is muted in comparison to the trubendz. The borla also has better tips

Both are good systems, just very different.

ive had borla on mine for about 2years now and it sounds and works great IMO. just with the catback sounded nice and resonant all the way through. with a new y pipe and gutted manifolds it is very resonant with a nice growl at WOT. i agree completely with the low end power gains and not so much up top but overall a very good exhaust system. mine doesnt show a sign of rust and the slip-joints show no leaks yet (as long as you tighten up every once in a while due to the bolt-on). hope this helps.

Yeah, what he said!! I love my Borla--sounds great, not raspy at all. I have what I consider to be a pretty good sound system but more often than not, it's off just so I can hear my exhaust.
