Irregardless of one's political views, people should respect the office of the President.
Here, here. I might think that "W" is a dumbass, but the job does deserve SOME respect.
It's just too bad we have a two party system, and we are FORCED to choose the lesser of two evils.
However, I'm not sure either Carter or Reagan where "evils" to decide on when he was elected.
Somebody in that office needs to give a damn about the American People. I think Reagan did, and no one has filled his shoes, since.

I sure as heck didn't vote for Reagan, and I remember his years as very bad for the country, at least where I lived. I'm certainly NOT going to miss him.

President Reagan is by far one of the best presidents this country has ever had. He has long been my hero in the politics and I have an enormouse amount of respect for him. He will forever be remembered and recognized for his absolute brilliance as a President. One of the nations BEST men died today guys. I will forever remember him.

What is the point in that?
It's called having class. Being contrary at the wrong time can get you in trouble, hurt peoples feelings, or lead to really bad situations in general. Conversely, you aren't true to yourself if you just go along, but don't really agree. So, say nothing, & remain neutral. Nobody gets P.O.'d, and you look like a diplomat. My description here doesn't properly express the profound nature & depth of that saying. It's getting late and I'm tired, my words are failing me, I am sorry for the weak effort.
I taught my children, "B-chin' is easy, any brainless tool can do that. Doing stuff - That takes character.".
This is not the thread for posting hate crap. The guy is no longer with us, many loved him, let them remember him in the best light.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

This is a respectful memorial thread. If you don't want to offer your condolences, STFU.

I hope that A&E takes this opportunity run again their biography of Reagan, it was very moving to me. If they show it, watch it. The best president in my lifetime, (born in 1956). RIP

So have no opinion? Don't rock the boat? Don't say anything because that might not jive with ever CEG'er?
All I was trying to say was what I felt or what I talked about when I heard Reagan died.
And are you trying to say some people here have no character? Are you calling other memeber classless?

I just heard about this about an hour ago. I am very saddened to hear this news. I was very young when he was in office, but from all that I have studied in school I can honestly say he is (so far) the best president of my life time. RIP
