"For us, Reagan was important because we knew he was really anti-communist, emotionally anti-communist," said Zdenek Kosina, 65, a Czech computer specialist.
"For us, he was a symbol of the United States' genuine determination to bring communism to an end."

I may have only been about 10 when Regan became President, but I remember ALL of his time in office pretty much. I remember that time being cool. I loved it. Not just because he was president, but the US, and the world were actually happier places. Yes, there were still problems, but there wasn't all this violence and stuff there is going on now. Even the music was much more FUN to listen to back then. None of the grunge crap, people singing about being losers and "why don't you kill me". The military absolutely LOVED Regan too. My dad served under him, and he thinks Regan was the BEST president ever. He will be missed.
As for the people coming in and "dissing" Regan, well, you are always going to have that. Unfortunately, Wellington, or whatever his name is, chose the wrong time to do it. It's the same though like when I announced I was pregnant. There were two jerks that posted really rude messages about it, for no reason, all because it was ME.
I think everyone should live by the saying "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"

First of all, I didn't say he was a bad president. Sorry I didn't say RIP, but Mr. Reagan RIP.
I do believe that Reagan had something to do with the Soviet bloc falling. Reagan increased military spending and outspent the Soviets. And yes his economic policy did work, at some point. But Iran-Contra and Lebanon are some of the bad things. To me it was so-so.
And Devo I happen to know what I am talking about.

Often I have read your political remarks and considered them in having some value; I even conceded some as valid and questioned my own views. Today, Mr. Wellington, I find none of these attributes in your comments. Show some respect for a man who did more for this country than you will ever even dream about. Voice your opinion, you're free to do so.
Sorry Trapps but these are just words written for a man who use to be an actor and using them to taught his greatness says nothing for him. They are just parrots, a figure head or focal point for the parties they represent. I was never a Ronald Regan guy but I mourn his passing as I would any other.
Should I apply this thinking then to all dialogue offererd up by polititians? How do you know Reagan didn't write what he spoke? Also, before losing my cmposure, are you calling President Reagan a parrot? Even Figuratively?
