hey, quit making fun of him for his tastes. Thats rude. There is nothing wrong with a Buick, I respect people that buy those cars *lists* 1)they last forever 2)VERY confertble to ride in 3)good gas mileage 4)lots of power 5)you can fit a lot of people in them
Story: my friend has a 1993 Buick Park Avenue, every feature for that year. It has 260K miles on it, they are getting rid of it soon, because it needs a transmission (my friend was alittle rough on it) All it needs other then a trannie is a new throttle body, THATS IT. The car runs damn fine, and has 260K miles on it.

Yikes I pasted a big pic! Whatever ribbing you get, screw em! That's a nice classy ride, which is faster than a SVT, more luxurious, way more reliable, and an endless canidate for mods. I would tint the windows, keep the stock rims, maybe go with better speakers, that's about it. Just cruise brother!

not in my book.
it makes no difference. i will ALWAYS have a contour. eventually, they will be worth $$$. remeber the corvairs?
the were mostly pieces of [censored], some of the most unreliable cars ever made never designed to be classics...look what happened. all the GM enthusiasts i know would love to have one...covertible, in blue. samegoes along the lines of the late 70'2 to early 90's jaguars...problematic as HELL, but people love em. the very definition of an ENTHUSIAST is to be ENTHUSED by the subject, in this case, a car. sure there are better ones out there. im not arguing that. but as long as my contour keeps getting me from point a to point b and i dont HAVE to dump $$$ in it (there is a difference between dumping mod money and dumping nessecary money), why get rid of it. i took it to a dealer the other day and asked what i would get for it on a trade in. CarMax gave me a written offer of $713. why get rid of it, when i can drive it till the motor blows, get a new one and slap it in, and drive it for another quarter million miles??? there isnt any point. if i have a change in nessescity, i will buy another one. the tours paid for, the ins is practically zilch and it WILL be worth $$$ eventually. probably not as much as a CSVT, but it will be worth alot more than $713. by keeping it, i will ALWAYS have a reliable mode of alternate transportation. hell my contour is more reliable than my mountian bike.
take it from someone who knows. i tried living withour a tour. my 97 sport got totalled by a saturn wagon. i lived without a tour for almost 6 months. i had a ranger that i needed for work. (it had 496,000 miles on it when i traded it in, and the only thing that went wroong for the 250K i had it was the rear diff case split open once...that was MY fault.) when my position at work changed, i no longer needed a truck, so i found another tour, paid $350 (got $1,000 trade on my ranger) and here i am. sorry for the long post, i just get tired of people dawgin on fords...especially contours.
the point here is that he likes his car. he thougth he would share. the 3800 v6 is a very mod friendly motor ( i dont care what anybody says...and i will repeat that everytime someone tells me otherwise, cause i knwo better) and regals look AWESOME lowered and on rims. they can also handle MONSTER stereo systems. they have their strong points, just like tours. they also have their weak points. you take the good with the bad. this individual wanted something different. i say cool. good for him/her. thats exactly why i mod a tour. i get lots of looks, and i dont een have an SVT. when i lower it, get exhaust and rims, ill be in for more looks. by just knauberizing, people noticed the difference. and if they didnt then they arent contour enthusiasts like i am. do you knwo how many people i have converted to contourisim just by passing along this site adress after showing them my car? more than i care to count. i represent...plain and simple.
the point here is dont dawg someones new car jsut because you dont like it...its not fair. you didnt buy it, so if you cant say something nice, stay outta the thread.
BTW that last part isnt directed to you dartsoccer...but there are others...

SVT Contours are sporty sedans, but it's believed real sport sedans are rear wheel drive. Kinda like the 3-Series Ford had as a benchmark in the creation of this car.
I personally don't believe you need rear drive to be a sport, but it's just what others around me seem to think. Either way, flame me if you will. I prefer medium-well.
