How does almost 390FWHP and over 360FWTQ from a 2.5L sound...

For those playing the home game that is "roughly" 470 crank HP (400+ TQ) or even better then the vaunted Duttwieler Beast engine made.

This is on his new forged bottom end, 57 trim with the smaller .63 A/R exhaust wheel and housing (more on that later), and with an upgraded intercooler over the one in the SF kit.

...and without further delay here are the graphs...

Boost level is 15psi for both runs.

The first run is on 91 octane tractor piss and the original intercooler.

The second run is on 93 octane and the new, larger intercooler.

To put the jump in power in more plain site here's a graph of the best dyno on the original setup (12+ psi and 95+ octane) vs the new one.

You guys really need to quit with your fancy "Look at me! I'm flirting with FOUR HUNDRED HORSEPOWER!" dynos. It's enough to make a grown Contour man cry.

Nice, been waiting to see some numbers for a while now! Any chance of a 20psi run in the future . Is the upper manifold triple honed?

Well this is very satisfying for me. I've been wrenching on this car with Keith for 2 years now and I think we've gone as far as we can without the car ripping itself apart. What you see at 388 is the max of the .57 trim compressor wheel. There is no more power left in that turbo. The only thing I can do is a bigger turbo, which will make the car less streetable or nitrous which I am not a fan of. The upper intake manifold is stock for 2000 which is double honed.

Well I achieved another couple of goals so I can cross them off.

1. Hit 185 wheels N/A without a chip
2. Make a turbo kit that works
3. Make 285 wheels to best my best N/A by 100
4. Broke 300 wheels on 91 octane
5. Beat the Kenny Duttweiler motor.
6. Have a beer.

The last one I'm doing now. I don't know what I am going to do after that. I guess I'd sell the car if someone offered me enough money for it and then I'd start all over again with something different.

those are some impressive numbers

but is that how everything is going to stay? To me it just seems like even though less power was made before...there was more constant power throughout the powerband.

I would think that the loss of power down low would be a blessing. Just a little more time to get the car moving before all hell breaks loose. Massive wheel spin kills more than the diff. Its hell on 0-60 times too... Rob

Chris that is truly impressive... Now where did I put that check from the IRS
