Pertaining to my earlier post of posibly needing a new header. I am having what seems like a pfft' sound in the front of the car. Now it gets a tad louder when it warms up.. But tonight a freind of mine was litening to it and noticed that it does it mostly at idle but when I rev it the pffst' gets faster with the motor but the sound deminishes at around 2500 rpms.. But heres the strange part and the reason why I am posting this is because someone might relate it to something they had in the past... When you rev the car, as the car is reving DOWN, the sound is TOTALY gone!!!! When it hits idle it can be heard again. Then rev again and again, on the way back down to idle, GONE?
Can anyone relate this what seems to me weird issue? I know none of you can in fact hear it yourself. Could an exhaust leak be on the way up in the rev and at idle but goes away on the down rev???
I just want some opinions before I totally take it in to be worked on and before, hopefully not, but before another garage tries to take me for a fix that isn't what they claim it to be.. What I am saying does this noise diminishing on the down rev could it be exhaust related. I would think that if it was an internal engine tick, wouldn't I be able to hear it with the oil fill cap off? When I remove it I hear nothing just the cams.... No ticking noise at all from inside the motor?
Sorry if I sound corney or totally nutz.. Just curious if anyone else can relate my issue?
Thanks
Spankey
