People.pay.taxes. Without taxes, the country doesn't function. Of course, the amount of taxes paid varies from administration to administration.
Regarding your 'point' that if you make no money, they give you money, well what exactly do you expect the people who have lost their jobs to live on ? I have no evidence to support this but I'd imagine that the majority of people that are receiving benefits have paid much more
in than they are taking
out. I don't recall any unemployed republicans refusing unemployment benefits either which they should do by your 'logic' and I use the word 'logic' loosely.
Many republican's point to Pres. Bush's tax cuts and how wonderful they have been. Almost all conveniently forget what has happened to the deficit in the past few years. While some of it is undoubtedly due to the economic downturn (which I don't really blame this administration for), a lot is due to the spending of the current administration. All this administration has done is hung a noose around the next generation of workers in exchange for a few minutes in the sun now.
You're so blinded by republican rhetoric that you just can't grasp that.
