Recently had engine MIL come on. Went to Autozone and pulled the code: P0420(inefficient pre-cat on rear bank). Asked for the pre-cat cost - $280/ea. Went home, put in a can of B12 into my gas tank, drove for next 3 fill ups. And presto, the MIL is gone.
I've used B12 for the non-intrusive intake manifold cleaning before and have used it as preventive maintenance two time. This is first time to actually 'fix' a problem.
Coincidence? Maybe. But I'm happy to spend $2.99 vs $280 + labor to replace the pre-cat. YMMV.

So you just poured the B12 into the gas tank? Hmmm worth a try. I got a 1200 dollar bill coming my way for cats and I might as well try this. This way doesnt require the mandatory oil change, does it?

No oil change required. You might consider changing the fuel filter after, just to be safe.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Im on it tomorrow as soon as I get the car back from the mechanic. I told him to forget about the cats for now, and fix my driver's door lock. Just pouring the whole can of the B12 into the gas tank... is there any risks or performance/gas mileage decrease?
Full tank, half tank, quarter tank? I still have like 3 cans of B12 sitting around from my uim/lim cleaning so I can do this right away but im just wondering on what will happen before i do it.

The instructions for the pour bottle state that it can be poured into the gas tank. Its one fluid oz per gallon of gas, so, I guess you could just pour the whole bottle in (16oz bottle for 15gal of gas).

Alright sounds good, I will do it right away tomorrow. I must ve forgotten about it saying that u can put it in the gas tank.
Contours/mystiques have a 14 gallon tank so a full bottle wont hurt.

That's what I did - poured a whole can into full tank of gas and drove for next 3 tank full. On the third tank about half way through, the MIL went out. YMMV.
