just had my a/c checked since it's not working, and they said the receiver/drier is rusted thru. I guess this is the same as the accumulator. car is '99 contour with 2.5L v-6. what's involved in changing this part out myself? what else would I need (gasket, bracket, etc?)

TIA

I am not adventurous to do it myself. I would recommend that you find a good mechanic. You have to flush the system, blow out the lines, and then recharge. If you have all the tools, OK, but without, you will probably get it working, but for how long?

With a rusted out accumulator, you might have metal in the lines. If you don't get it out, you'll have the same problem I have now.

My Story

I have the condenser on order
