[homer] Woo Hoo! [\homer]

Will this replace the LIM as well, or will we need to hang on to our stocker?

*OR* will it bolt on to the 3L LIM?

Sounds like it will be ideal for a turbocharged car!
Although I am not going to be doing much modding on my car anymore I may consider it for other duratec motors I work on.

Sounds pretty good, too. I've got a short vid clip of him at Carlisle a few weekends ago. Seemed like a nice enough guy.

There is no realllll reason to replace the lower intake manifold. its short AND fat. On extreme ported applications i can do a complete manifold with lower flanges and injector bosses but ill be offering just upper manifolds with short runners and big plenums and flanges to attach to the lowers for 400. Better price same performance. The full length manifolds from top to bottem will be 550 and i can do a little bit more tuning to your application going that route. But for 90 percent of you the the upper will make a huge improvement. I dont care much for the upper intake manifold design at all. Anything that turns more then 90 degrees on a radius that tight like you see on these stock manifolds, has got to be killing flow in the top end.

Travis are you going to make dual plenums like the pictures? I've kicked around the idea of making a fabbed aluminum intake for my car just for shitz and grins. Just kinda curious to what you have in store..

Its going to be dual plenum like the pics. Im kicking around using a corvette throttle body like he did or making a set of throttle bodies of my own for the application.

Cool beans. So umm dual throttle bodies then or just one with dual butterflies? I wasthinking along that route or machining a TB adapter for my stock TB to go into 2 plenums. If I went that route I can't decide about either making a new LIM with injector bosses or just gutting the stock one and boring it out a little. i dunno it would be afun project to do at work. I have all the machines at my disposal and I know Mikey boy wants me to make one for him

I wouldnt touch the lower as far as crossection. its already big and going to those SHORT SHORT runners with plenums located pretty much right above would be really hard on low end torque. My advice would be to use the stock lower un ported and to keep the diameter consistant from lower to upper.

You have use a non corrosive metal like alumnium magnisium or stainless to make the intake manifold and that requires a tig welder pretty much. Some very high end migs can be used but they are alot of trouble trust me.

If you go with a corrosive metal like a36 or 1010 or 4340 make SURE you ceramic coat or paint with something that isnt going to flake under the heat change or corrode away with the fuel and air or your valves will be getting quite the unhealty snack.

Iv been through the trials of metal working for the last 6 months. This stuff is not nearly as easy in real life as it is in concept.
