OP LilTour CEG\'er L Joined: May 2004 Posts: 114	LoL.. naaa.. its toast.. it was the transmission the whole time.. Did another drain / fill.. fluid looked ok.. not great. Hopped in, took a spin to the sonoco, 1/2 mile there, 1/2 mile back.. It died on a hill in traffic of all things. Transmission slipping really, really bad, like 4 g rpm to go 5mph. I shut it off, let it sit, and managed to get it into a neghborhood. Called my friend with a jeep + towing package, and we towed it to the house. Toast, dead, kaput.. Its pretty common on older fords with smaller engines, its the power steering pump, mine started to get a little louder when my serpentine belt was replaced.. I think it sounds cool, and a bunch of people think I have a turbo, ^_^ The sound comes from the front right side... S Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,262	mine does it, its actually the a/c compressor on mine...very very faint though. when i downshift and leave the clutch in (like say slid the shifter in to 1st around 25mph while declerating) i get a whiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrr until i come to a stop but it doesnt do it with the clutch out...BTW the MTX fluid has never been changed...coming up on 85K pretty quick.
