I wonder if it would help airflow if some JB Weld or something was used to fill the turbulaence-causing lip on the butterfly where it is held on by the shaft? THat stuff can be put on, and then shaped to look/act great.

Brad,

I've got an SVT TB sitting here waiting to be installed (for a while now). Should I ship it to the address on your web page? I'd do it myself, but I don't have the time or garage space anymore - darn apartment living! wink

Brad, that sounds good. Do you have an SVT T-body already to modify while awaiting my core return? Whats your e-mail again?

bnmotorsports@msn.com Yes, I have one ready to go... the one that was on my car. I've taken it off and cleaned it up for sale.

Lance, I can do that for you. Addy on the web "order" page is current.

Brad -- I have a non-SVT...can you do it to that one?

And it is basically $35 if I send you my TB, right?

Today I took the TB back out and took another 1/16" inch of the back side of the shaft. (I used a file and then finished with fine emery cloth. I also replaced the scews with countersunk flat heads and added countersinks to the butterfly plate. Works even better!

Countersunk screws are completely flat!!

Where did you get the screws for that?

Yes, but it will still be treated as a core exchange, so remove your TB as I already have an SE TB done and ready to send out.

Da(m)n, yes the 70 can be optimized too... I would think that reduction in turbulence would actually help the larger ones more as to help keep air speed up.

Those screws can be had at just about any home repair or hardware store. If you do your own, remove the bar from the TB and take it with you to ensure proper threads. Easy as pie... Just have to have the tools. laugh
