Who said anything about beer?? cool

Today I took the TB back out and took another 1/16" inch of the back side of the shaft. (I used a file and then finished with fine emery cloth. I also replaced the scews with countersunk flat heads and added countersinks to the butterfly plate. Works even better!

Countersunk screws are completely flat!!

This is also a good time to match the mounting port on the upper manifold.

DemonSVT: By match the mounting port, do you mean position the TB so that there's no overlap/lip for the air to hit when it enters the upper intake? I just checked and noticed if I lifted my TB "up" as far as possible there was no edge of the intake exposed for the air to hit. (Adjusted and tightened....) Thanks!!

Hey is this like tested with more precise means than the butt-dyno? Sometimes people 'think' the car is faster because they expect it to be.

When i cleaned my TB I saw no Teflon. Sounds like a load of bullsh!t to me!
tw0wheelin, that counter sunk screw idea is TIGHT!. I'll have to do that to my 65mm TB when it arrives on Tuesday!
Also did you grind down the lip/step where the butterfly seats? that would be a thing to do as well I would imagine.
I'm going to polish the nside of mine too with SOS pads and Mothers polish. laugh

Yup, I am very worried about the teflon coating that works so well to keep carbon off on the butterfly

80 grit sanding paper to thin the plate, then I used a grinding wheel to bring the edge of the throttle plate almost to a point (you don't want to remove any material from the edge or you'll screw up your idle air flow). I also used counter sunk screws like you did as well as removing a little bit from the back of the bar. I also took the next step and used a router to knife edge the front lip of the opening to the TB. I then used a tapered sanding roll to take down the edge of the machined bore to be more progressive, again don't remove material from where the throttle plate meets the bore or a bad idle will be yours.

I'll take some pics if I remember this weekend. Who needs a dyno when all this mod takes is time? O.K., maybe the cost of a couple of screws and a file or some sanding products, but what man in his right mind doesn't have these things or at least thinks he needs them already? cool
