Another ?: Did you "clean" the tag with some kind of cleaner/chemical to promote wear?

I would like to know where people mounted these plaques, both exterior and interior, pictures would be great but a description will do. I just wanna get some ideas.
I am for sure buying a set of the version 2 interior and exterior. Will the 17th be to late to send the money?
