Agree..

It was fun in a "suspend disbelief" sort of way..

I especially like the part where Dennis Quaid's boss who first thought Quaid was a fruitcake gives the "Cheney-esque" VP a ration because he initially thought Quaid was a fruitcake too. "If you would have listed to him before (which was last week) we could have (stopped polluting) in time..." Or something like that..

Moron.org was apparently out in force passing out leaflets at the movie lobbies saying that this is what we are in for if Bush gets re-elected..

The main point is that the "tiny bit" of polution that humanity is causing could have some pretty major effects. We really don't know either way. A scenerio similar to the movie could in fact, happen, we don't know what the melt down point is. A simple drop of a degree or two more could signifigantly change the environment catastrophically. Or it might not.
However, I still think that what we're doing currently isn't helping the planet anyway. We're killing species off by the hundreds + yearly and making the place a little worse off for us to live. If you think the 2% (not sure if that's accurate or not) of CO2 that we're producing isn't going to make a difference, then by all means keep doing it. Just remember 2% is a heck of a lot more (in the global scheme of things) of C02 then before we came around.

Just because "sh*t just happens" doesn't mean other sh*t can't make it happen more readily.

Trees die on their own. It doesn't mean deforesting the rainforest is the same thing.

So basically your saying that since we polute, the ice age is going to come say, 10,000 years faster? It is going to happen sometime but it isn't because of us, it is how things work.

As far as the politics and technicality, I plead the fifth on this one guys. I thought it sucked though, I fell asleep about half way through it. Pollution doesn't hold this 17 yr old's interest very well when I'm inside a movie theatre.

Seeing my old home in NYC flood and then freeze over was a bit mortifying though.
