Hey now. Don't you have a new V8 4Runner? My Pilot gets better gas mileage than you, too.

You bet, but I would've gotten the V6 if it was an option in OCt 2002, and I would've DEF bought a hybrid SUV even if it was a $3k premium.

Those weren't options then, and since I totaled the last V6 4Runner we had, this was the next best thing. . .and I TRIED to convince Neelam to at least test drive the Prius, which was CRAP, back then. . .she wouldn't have it, needed the SUV for moving crap, transporting pets, Sam's cluc, etc. Point being, if you WERE to buy an SUV, I hope that people would NOW entertain the hybrid technology. The other point also being that if you are driving a Yukon with 22's to be a pimp, that's retarded, when you can just as easily buy a BMW with 22's and get better gas mileage (and better handling, etc.)

But I can't hold that over anybody's head, it's they're money, do whatever with it. . .I just HOPE that now that hybrid tech is becoming more mainstream, that people would buy a Yukon or Escalade or 4Runner or Pilot with an electric motor. . .

BTW, we get the same mileage My colleague just bought a pilot and he averages about 20mpg on the highway and about 17mpg in the city. I average about 16mpg in the city and 20-22 on the highway. . .for a V8, that ain't bad. But I think we're going to trade it in for a hybrid 4Runner when they come out with one. . .FOR the environment, got that SVTCuervo, the liberal wants to save the environment and not ruin it for future generations (please get your Bush-based-head-up-the-ass-let's-drill-in-Alaska-ideas-and-destroy-earth another thought when you go around ranting). . .

Oh yeah, proof of point, this movie was meant to illicit thought and provoke the healthy discussions we're having here. . .

No, this movie was meant to more potatnly put your liberal cause into the mainstream. It is simply trying to scare people into thinking that the world will come to an end because we polute it too much. And the worst part about it is that it works. People see something in a movie and they automatically sympathize with it. I see people cheer when the main character's(ofter criminals in the movies) get aways. I see people rejoyce when a women gets $100 million from a gun company who had nothing to do with a murder, but their gun was used to kill. Face it, Hollywood can get your sympathy for nearly anyone and anything and when these films are viewed by children (and many easily swayed adults ) they figure "hell, since its in a movie, I should believe it"...........The saddest party about the whole thing is that so many Americans fall a victum to lettin Hollywood and the liberla media make up their minds for them. The first thing they see, they believe!! Tis a sad time

Liberals have a message, conservatives have a message. Both try to get the word out to sway peoples opinions. But somehow the liberals are stupid for working in this way and the conservatives are not. Your narrow scope of vision is frightening. And who cares about future generations, you got yours right?

Classic post and I totally agree.

I did some research today and even though my previous post was alittle off the context of my message was correct. What we are doing now will greatly effect future generations and honestly most people don't care. The only time they will care is when it to late.

The movie was good, although there were two things that annoyed me:

(1) A big part of the plot was the dad getting to his son. What, exactly, was he planning on doing when he GOT to his son? He didn't bring any stuff, he was just being an idiot.

(2) I'm pretty sure global warming and the melting of the ice caps is a natural event. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure we didn't have classic cars polluting up the environment 10,000 years ago during THAT ice age. Silly tree-hugging hippies..
