Yeah I've gone through a lot. Whether to mod or sell the CSVT has always been a strugle for me, but this was kind've the last straw. THe jet ski was going to be something my Mom's boyfriend was going to get, I was just more or less doing all the research. The VW I ended up passing on because the guy seemed a little shady. I wish the car would have been owned by someone else, would have posisbly changed things. I love my pocketbike though! It's so much fun to screw around on wherever I'm at. As for now, I'm not set on the 6, I just know there are a handful of people on here who have them so I thought I'd ask. I'm considering a bunch of things. Someone mentioned a loaded 6 that comes to $25K is actually around $22K, is that after tax and title? Is it going to be more for the 5-door? That's the model that I had priced out online. I don't know if they have some huge dealer mark-up or not.

I've seen 5-Doors, with stickers of $27,700 go for $22,871 + TTL. That's with a $1500 dealer cash rebate, and a Rev-It-Up coupon for $250 off. You can pick up the coupons on Ebay for about $20-50.
So, for a $25,000 sticker, you should be able to get it for $22K out the door.
I paid right around $21,500 + TTL/Ext.Warranty for my fully-loaded sedan with a sticker of $26,000.

I didn't know you could get a coupon on E-Bay for them. I'll look more into prices when I go to the dealership, I just wanted a headstart. Thanks for the info. though.

yah, mine stickered at $28,500, so < $23K is realistic
it's scary considering 2000 SVT's were going for $34K at the dealerships a couple of years ago (for new ones) - yes a $9K markup - and they SOLD!
here's mine

WHAT?! The Countour's turning radius is HORRIBLE! You're saying the Mazda 6 is even worse? Ick!
Personally in that price bracket I'd probably go for a WRX, but I'd be sure to test drive a 6s, too. If you can talk 'em down under $22K it may be worth it. Don't forget about the Saab 9-2X, too...

I think I saw in "Motor Trend" a Mazda 6 lift back, not the 5 door, it looked good and had plenty of trunk space. I would choose that one over the sedan and the wagon.

Oh, and anyone who paid $33K for a new SVTC, instead of getting a 328 or saving a few grand and getting a 323 (nicer than the SVTC to boot) should be taken out of the gene pool, like now. --T.J.

What do you think "5-Door" means?
