I don't want to spend a lot of precious cash, so I am hesitant about replacing the strut bearings. How can you tell these are bad? I have a clunking sound coming from the front end when going over bumps. How much are new ones? Dan B. 96 SE 2.5 auto

Clunking probably coming from ball joints, part of the sway bar assembly, or worn outer tie rod ends.
