Actually I'm building an new intake that will go all the way into that area next to the fender (where I'm cutting the hole.) Originally I was going to run it through that teardrop shaped hole in the fender, but there isn't enough room for the 3" pipe that I'm using. ZetecNinja used a GMK extension and already did what I'm talking about. It's the only way to get cool air into the engine. The under hood temps are always 10 to 80 degrees hotter than the outside air. I really don't want my PCM to think that it is 145 degrees outside. You'd be surprized how hot that the under hood temps can get. The thermometers that I have go up to 158 degrees. On a 90 degree day, I have gone over 158 with my car running at a stop for a few minutes (waiting at drivethru).
