Keep the stock SVT set-up, and get an AFE drop in filter. Best Mod I have done. I've gone back and forth between the AFE and the SHO-Shop K&N w/heat sheild, and back and forth between the CEG standard K&N 3530 and the AFE...and there just is no gain from the bigger filter, at least with mildly modded E0s. My mods are:
Optimized TB Optimized stock Y 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust No main cat...test pipe installed
The AFE felt like a big step up from the paper filter. The K&N 3530 felt slower everywhere in the RPM range...but especially down low. And yes..I've reset the PCM everytime.
