yes and no....a lot of poeple with the Stock SVT intake like it cause it does keep it cooler.
But if you going to go after market you can make your own heat sheild out of A small waste basket, or somehting which a lot of poeple ahve done, and it ended up working better for them.
Personaly i feel the best way is after market Intake with your own custom heat sheild made of rubber or plastic...The Svt one is too restrictive...especialy if you oepn it up with a full exahust system.
but thats my opinion.
