everyone needs such blind faith. go ahead and give it the old college try. atleast you will be able to say that it took a type r to beat you.
This is not blind faith... I wasn't stating that ANY 2.5 dura would trounce it... I merely said that I believe it *can* be done on a 2.5... in different stages of modification, like Demon said... not blind at all.. merely... reputable..

I have to concur. Benchracing, it does seem close. 15.4@91 vs. 15.2@93. But after racing one, I learned the truth. Even with the better r/t and 60' , the type-r still came from behind and passed me. Once they get rolling, they are not slow. -R-

LOL
No its not, not even close.
The ITR will walk all over a stock SVT. Those things are mid 14's stock and will nail low 14's with work.
Unless your SVT is really worked, the ITR isn't in your class, you should be going after prelude's, tsx's, and the like.
type-r are in the mid to high 14's and they are still faster stock for stock........i dont think you'd be able to catch him in the twisties either.....they are damn stable too.....sry

I ran into a type R and the track, and I got beat but it was close. I have the dmd, spec clutch and flywheel and it seems my car is slower but my trap speed went from 89 to 90-92mph. Needless to say a little more room and I would have caught him. (He had a better jump). I did beat a 02 Acura TL Type-S. We were neck and neck and I messed up 3rd gear and still beat him. (me 15.4@85mph him 15.5@91mph) That night I was runnig 15.4 and 15.5 all night. My fastest was 15.2@ 89mph, but it seems in that run I would have beat my fastest if I would not have messed up 3rd.

Sounds like someone can't drive their TL. My 02 Type-S walks my 00CSVT from any speed. Heck, you even missed a gear and still won. That says alot in and of itself.

Perhaps you are right about the driver, and I won't argue the point. The Acura TL Type-S is fast, but I guess it was a drivers race.
CHA Slapaho: Sorry I don't play the kiddie finger games. I have been known to give cars that are simliar in performance a good race. The Integra Type-R is a fast car and I did not deny that, and with the right driver I would get beat everytime. I know my car and I know the right shift points. When I ran a 15.2 @ 89mph, that was last year when my car was nearly stock save an exhuast. At this point I still do not have speed enhancing upgrades, I just shift right at redline. Now it was obvious that the Integra I raced had a good driver behind the wheel because he beat me, but that too was a driver's race. Our cars had similar mods but the integra engine has a slight edge. I have taken my car to the limit, and noticed since I installed the dmd, my car is faster on the top-end. I have noticed cars that normally pull on me hard on the top-end I can hang and even pull on them (ex. 98-02 TL's, RSX's). Now, whether they were good drivers on the top-end I do not know, but once you have the pedal down in forth or fifth gear, in a straight line on an open course, it doesn't take much driveability. But it is amazing that a four door family car has a nice performing engine and can keep up with certain sports cars!
