True, but in reality thats a completely different comparison. The Marauder was meant to remind the old timers of their old muscle cars, the big, heavy, tire smokin' beasts of the 60s and 70s. The Marauder had a nice exhaust note, but it was exactly that- big and heavy-- and most importantly UNDERPOWERED.

This falcon apparently doesn't have any of those problems... i think the comparison is better made to the M5/E55/RS6 which have sold just fine, thank you very much.

As long as marques are used that inspire memories of those same "old muscle cars, the big, heavy, tire smokin' beasts of the 60s and 70s" such as the GTO and Falcon, the comparison is still valid. The M5/E55/S6 come from a different background of Autobahn blasters that also have a certain name recognition in that the people that would buy a M5, E55 or S6 would prefer to own an BMW, Mercedes or Audi over any American or Japanese performance coupe or sedan.

American and Japanses manufactures chase those buyers endlessly, and rarely catch them.

I won't be holding my breath for the day that Ford can convert E55 or M5 buyers over to the Ford stable.

But anyway, I would take one of them over a Mazda3 also. That is an awesome car!

Mazda does.

Ford is only a minority share owner.
