I make Cold Air Intakes for the Cougar and Contour. The extension kits I make are designed to turn any exsisting shortran into a true Cold Air Intake.

In case you guys are not familar with me I an a well known member on www.FastCougar.com and have been making custom intakes for cougars for 2 years.

Please feel free to PM me for more information. In fact Bridge just posted pictures of my Carbon Fiber GMK cai in the vids/pics section.

Whats up Lupe

I am actually doing a custom GMK CAI in purple for LostRacer right now.

I do Polished GMK Extensions for $90. Each GMK CAI extension which I do is special order, made specifically for that customer. I will make the CAI to specific measurements provided by that customer. This way I can ensure fitment of my GMK CAI on whichever shortram intake you may have.

My piping is 3" which is designed to flow well with our Duratec V6 in either 2.5 or 3.0 form. If the MAF adaptor your using is not 3" (mirko is not) then you will need to aquire a 3.5"x3" reducer, these are available online. Hose Techniques sells them as well as WeaponR just to name a few.

The install will require that you move the battery over to the left a bit along with the fuse box. You will need to drill a 3.5" hole in the sheetmetal below the origenal location of the fuse box. I provide a full online pictorial for all my customers.

If anyone is interested please let me know. Feel free to PM or IM me on AIM if you have any questions about my CAI system.

Are they ducted through the fender well or behind the headlight or something? Where does the "cold air" come from? Any pics?

The air wil need to be drawn from inside the front bumper. The filter will be placed behind the foglight. The piping does not go through the fender, rather through a hole which must be drilled behind the headlight. There is room; you just have to slide everything over a bit.

Please note: in this picture i have my fender liner removed for testing purposes. I installed a splash sheild to prevent water from getting the filter dirty. The AEM bypass valve can easily be used with my intake design. Just let me know and I will modify the piping for you.

wow., woudn't it get all messed up being located in the wheel well, without the wheel well protecting it?, i don't know, but that doesn't look like the brightest idea, especially the roads i drive on.

I removed my fender liner just to see what would happen to the filter. So far the splash sheild has prevented it from getting too dirty.

Now obviously the fender liner would protect the filter on all sides from dust and water splashing. It would be subject to some dusting...but nothing serious.
