I Just had clutch replaced yesterday and same day airbag light is flashing 3 pause 2. The Horn does not work either. I see all the posts on the clock spring but there is another post on June of '01 that says his clutch was replaced and he had the same light pattern but no response. Any ideas??? The clutch shop says bring it in we'll just reset it. I can do that myself. What about the horn? There has to be a simple solution.

Thanks in advance

PS it's a 1996 Contour GL
2.0 MTX

Flashing airbag lights and other odd electrical behavior (random wipers, perhaps your non-working horn) are often warnings of a dying battery. Perhaps your battery is old and they left the door open or hood (if you have a hood light) open for a long time with the battery connected and discharged it enough to push your battery into limbo status.

I've never seen it myself but the "flashing airbag light for no apparent reason" in the past in these forums has usually been followed by a dead battery, or fixed with a battery replacement.

I had 5 batteries in my car over 9.5 years, I think the car's electrical system is just inherently unkind to battery life.

my 2c,
-Peter

32=Driver Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance or Open

Now if your battery was the problem, youd get a code 12, I know that code well

Mine did it, and it wasn't until I replaced the battery that it went away. In fact, I think the bad battery was the cause. If you're battery is getting close to replacement time, you may want to consider doing it.

My air bag lite has been on for about a year straight no flashing just bright.

Also when I was in my accident it didn't go off.

If it's the clockspring, in addition to having no horn and an airbag light, you will also have no cruise control. If you have cruise control, it's not the clockspring.
