This has nothing to do with audio, but you guys are the electronics freaks, so i figure this would be a good place to post...
I have a battery disconnect on my 64 Cutlass... i'm thinking about wiring up a very rudimentary car alarm that would sound if a complete circuit is made. The plan is to simply wire in a siren and a switch, and connect it to the battery terminals. The switch is off when the cars running, then when i turn it off, i disconnect the battery and flip the switch on. If someone reconnects the battery without turning off the switch, circuit is completed and the siren sounds.
question 1) am i a retard for even considering such a thing?
question 2) do i need any sort of resistors or anything to run a siren off of my car battery? I figure it should just be a simple wiring job.
question 3) can i just buy everything i need at my local radio shack?
Advice is much appreciated. Thanks!!
