I go through life constantly thinking Im forgoting to do something. I guess its just getting older with more responsibilities. I don't really forget all that much though. May be your just busier than normal.

yes, drug use whether legal and doctor prescribed or illegal may cause side effects such as poor memory. i am not accusing you of anything though. it is possible that a really poor diet may cause your memory to suffer but it would have to be a really really bad diet. more likely you are just not paying attention, are preoccupied, don't care to remember, are tired, ect. this is exaclty what causes changes in my memory. i can remember some amazing things but recently i have been rather distracted and tired so my preformance has suffered accordingly.

my memory is horrible, i dont even remember most of my highschool classmates names, and these were the people i talked to every day, not just the people i didn't like, and i'm only 23. i did pound my head into a pole on a motorcycle (with helmet but it still hurt) 2 years out of highschool though. I'm kind of afraid to go back to school because of this actually. i cant remember names, even important ones, the ones i tell myself 10 times in my head, not from way back but from 2 days ago, its pretty bad. I do remember things like pay rent, pay bills, go to work, i can still remember everything i do at my job damn well but my learning / memorizing capacity has absolutely gone to hell.

Dunno what I'm doing right but my memory is really really good. Once it goes in I rarely forget anything. I always have 50 things going on too with work & family. Must be all the sex I have  My only suggestion would be to try and get laid more often

The first thing that comes to mind is sleep. Most people need between 7-9 hours per night. If you aren't getting that, your short term memory will suffer. Studies prove it.
Other culprits in my experience are aspertame and other artificial sweeteners commonly found in diet sodas and all that low carb chit. I went on a low carb diet a while back and those things seemed to have a negative effect on my mood as well as memory. Eating a diet high in fat can cause sluggishness and fatique that could lead to memory problems. So yeah.....watch your diet, eat your fruits and veggies and get plenty of sleep. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I started working the night shift again May 1 so I haven't been getting as much sleep as I did over the winter months. There has been ALOT of stuff going on in my life recently as well. This included getting repairs done for the car, driving 1000 kms in 3 days, gas prices increasing, meeting a ton of new people, having other important events coming up, a friend of the family passing away, another friend of the family being diagnosed with breast cancer, one of my close friends saying she has feelings for me when I don't feel the same, etc. Actually, now that I think about it, all that I just mentioned has happened within the past week. Make no wonder I'm out of it. I gotta make sure I relax on my next day off before I have a nervous breakdown.
