Motorcraft would be my first choice of those two, but there is nothing wrong with Wix. Either one would be fine.
I also don't bother to relieve the pressure before changing the filter on my car, but the easiest way if you should feel the need is to find the tap on the fuel rail for hooking up a fuel pressure testing gauge. It has a Schreider valve, like a tire valve stem, that you can depress to relieve pressure.
