I've used Puralator fuel filters with no problems. I believe they have them at Advanced Auto Parts and Pepboys. Pulling the fuel pump's fuse and running the car should not starve the fuel pump as it has no power and isn't trying to move fuel. This is how I, as well as many others, remove the pressure from the line before changing the filter.
