I haven't done it...nor do I plan on it..but there are lambo door kits out there. They range from cheap($50-$100) to the expensive ($200-$300) Ive seen some WAYYYY more than that.

My advice is don't do it...unless you like the uncle ben.

Well - I havn't done it yet and my cars not ricey - just a show car.

Problem with our cars is the akward rear panel which makes it impossible for a kit job. I have having custom hinges made for my rear doors. I already have a custom front lambo set up.

As far as that $300 figure - not sure where it's from. My lambos come in at about $2000 after everything. The rears will be about the same since they require a lot fabrication but less moving parts.

The Contour will probably require a recessed hinge setup with shocks in the cpillar area. I'm not sure but I've seen a PT Crusier with the rear suicides and he had the same problem that we would encounter.

Once I develop the kit I can prob send you the CAD version at a price. Regardless, your best bet is to go to a lowrider shop or hotrod shop. Those guys know what they're doing. My lambo doors were done wrong by the first shop that did them but the second shop did an extremly awesome job.

Biggest problem besides designing the hinge itself is lining up the doors - some shops like the afore mentioned one just wanted to get the door on there and didn't take the time to line it up or do the proper fabrication on the hinges. My new shop redid the hinge design to make it fit properly and move flawlessly and without effort.

one more thing - if it's not a show car both are very stupid to do on a daily driver. both are a total inconvience to the driver and the passengers for everday use and I would imagine that neither should take daily abuse. I've installed expensive and cheap KITS on on Civics and RSX's and some other cars - these kids put them on their daily drivers and often have to come back for adjustments and i'm sure eventully replacements (shocks) since they are not made for daily use. My SVT is a full show car and a once in a while sunny day weekend car thus I spared no expense and my door hinges are welded to the car for safety reasons therefore making them permenent.

my question is...how do you pull the door down from inside the car? Is there a latch built on the the bottom of the door for you to pull it down or what?

Also how do your doors open? All the way or do they only open up half way like most lambo kits, making you have to wiggle in all retarded just to get inside...

I havn't figured that out yet since my interior is gutted but I remember when my car used to be at Krapotic Imatations- pulling the door down wasn't a problem.

Again - like I said, it's not a daily driver so it's not really a problem for me but it would be a pain in the ass for the daily driver. I weigh in at 140 @ 5'10 so it's not a problem for me but bigger people who have seen my car and tried to get in see it as a problem since the the door only opens only so much and then goes up. Makes a good fat chick defense haha.

I'll have pictures up in June for you all to gawk at and you'll see what i'm talkin' about.

I was wondering, WHY anyone would want to do the suicide doors on their Tour or any other car.

Just to be different and have a custom car. There's a heck of alot of non functional or purposeful things out there, but it's all about creativity, ingenuity and the final look.

I can picture it now...A guy pulls up and all of a sudden all four doors lift up and 4 guys get out at the same time...

I guess you would be original...It just seems so dumb for a 4 door to have lambo doors. Its like one of those sins no one ever talks about because its so wrong

yup - I was never about aesthetics till Krapotic came around - I'm pretty much just left to clean up their mess. But I love this game just as much as the power game (plus the model girls I got are oh so hot ) The amount of money I had to put into this car equals that of what the car cost me about 3 years ago....

...which pretty much would of equalled a built 3.0 w/turbo and loads of other wonderfuls to make my beast go crazy fast on m3's and mustangs....

oh well...there's next year
