Well my family's moving to Minnesota (minneapolis) at the end of june, and seeing as how it's my senior year in high school, I really want to make a trip back to cleveland in the contour, after we move, so that I can stay here with friends (and the gf ). My parents want to fly me out, but 1. there would be no fun in that, and 2. i'd be stuck without a car!
I checked on mapquest, and I think the drive is about 11.5 hours. I've driven 9 hours straight to massachusetts, following my family in the contour. However, I'm unsure about the drive from Minnesota...11.5 hours is a DAMN long time, though I think I could do it stamina-wise...I'm just unsure about getting there directional-wise, since I've never done a long trip all by myself.
Anyways that was my little rant. Comments are welcome
Also, I was wondering, what's the longest you guys have driven straight? Gas stops/ food stops are ok, but no stopping to sleep . I need to make this drive in one day

Drove from Columbia, SC to Buffalo, NY straight before. It took 12 hours. It actually wasn't too bad. The first 6-8 hours sucked, but once you get over the hump it's pretty easy. And it rained the first 10 hrs. It's no fun driving through the West Virginia mountains in the pouring rain and trying to pass a semi on an outside curve.

I drove from Detroit to Minneapolis last summer. Left at around 11pm; it was a piece of cake except for the 3am traffic jam in Chicago.

All the way across the US -- Crescent City, CA to Yorktown, VA -- right about 4,000 miles.
21 hours straight, slept for 5 hours, another 18 hours, slept for another 8 hours, the drove the final 8 hours.
Give or take a couple hours here and there.

About 12 hours from Gadsden Alabama into Michigan, entire drive was 14 hours but I had someone with me who did the last couple hours. Pulled a 9 hour leg just last spring as well on a second trip home from Gadsden. It's really not too bad if you have some good tunes, just make sure you get some good rest the night before.
