There's a difference between "brand identity" and "bland identity"
Look at Pontiac... cars are not identical, but very similar. Their general body sizes are the same, their overall look is the same, everything is very similar.
BMW for example has common "branding" themes... the kidney grille, the swoop on the rear windows... but all of their cars are an individual execution... different sizes, different overall feelings. The old 5 series was rounded, the 7 series was squared off, while the 3 series was more angular and wedge shaped. The new 3 series is tight and compact, the 5 series is larger and more muscular, and the 7 series is long and stately, while having a more rounded appearance.
Everything is similar, but still different. GTO excluded, I see very little distinction between the Bonneville, GTP, and G6, so little that I couldn't tell which of the first 2 cars was which.

Brand Identitiy is what it is. Whether it be Ford, Plastiac, or BMW. Everyone may as well get used to it. Personally I think Plastiac's sedans are more interesting to look at or drive than Ford's late 90's jellybean cars (SVT not included). For instance, I would most DEFINITELY take a Grand Prix over a Taurus. My main reason for dislking Plastiac is that they advertise "driving excitement" and compare themselves to BMW - when all they deliver is outlandish styling and hype. Along with numb steering, nasaly sounding pushrod engines and heavy understeer.

They say the Solstice is a 20K sportscar. However, if you remember the Miata when it came out was supposed to be base 13K, and you couldn't find one anywhere near that low. If the Solstice is a hit, it'll be marked up a lot above 20K...
There engineering the car still in England, it's coming along nicely. Pontiac is taking it's time to ensure the car is right and not another Fiero

I agree, nothing from their new line up interests me, as well as cars from the old line up.

When i first saw the GTO in person i thought.... Its a sunfire, wait no its not. It is a sad day when you can get a GTO confused with a SUNFIRE!!!!!!!
