My girlfriends brother asked me if my Kia was fast one day. I thought he was kidding at first so I laughed uneasily then saw he was still just looking at me in a serious way. For that I decided to have my way with his sister...

I love the '97-'01 Grand Prixs. I have a deal going with a 1998 GTP right now to replace the contour. I'm gonna keep the contour though for a beater. GTPs have 240hp 280 ft/lb. tq. I can't wait.

Have you actually looked at a GTO? First, it's not "stretched out". Second, are they first adding HP and then adding restrictors to get it back down to 350 HP like the Corvette? If you don't like Pontiac, that is fine, but at least get some facts straight.

Yeah,,, the GTO is a holden monaro (spelling?) with pontiac clading. Still it does look a GP.

I agree Alias.
No fair looking at the GTO on the front bumper!

First is the Grand prix, then the Bonneville, then the GTO. And since we're nitpicking the Contour/Escort/Taurus...
The Grand Prix headlights come to a narrower point towards the center of the car and extend further towards that center than either of the others. Bonneville has a completely different lower front fascia, and the Grand Prix has the turn singnals and fogs integrated together while the GTO simply has fogs. The differences are about as plain and obvious as the Contour/Escort/Taurus differences mentioned. Study either lineup of 3 cars for 2 minutes or less and the differences are easily distinguishable. Like I said in my earlier post, I'm no Pontiac fan at all, not really loyal to any one brand actually, but the Poncho lineup doesn't really look like a bunch of the same car to me.

You all can split hairs all you want but the body styles as a whole are the same. I'm not talking EXACT replicas of each other but you can't deny the similarities. Let's try it from another angle. Do any of these cars look unique compared to the others? Shift a light here, move the antenna there, the body of the car still flows the same. Take the average car buyer to a Pontiac dealer and ask them to differentiate between the three cars and I bet they couldn't.

You obviously must agree with the above that Ford was guilty of the same thing with the contour/escort/taurus, right?

Why does no one have a problem with BMW doing the same thing?
