Everyone talks about a "poor mans intake" so now I want to see pics of what you guys have done.

I was thinking about taking my drill and putting some monster sized holes in my plastic airfilter cover and leaving it hooked up to the fender intake.

Thoughts??

Thats my ghetto intake.

Drilling holes in the stock intake would only draw in engine heat.

I cut the MAF plate off so the MAF is just a tube. Then I attached the K&N filter directly to it. No MAF adapter needed.

Wow, that is pretty poor....cutting off the plate so you don't have to spend ~20 or less on a MAF adapter.....

Ain't nothing wrong with that. I can't see spending $20 for a piece of plastic and another $12 to ship it. That's dumb. I cut off the mounting plate and problem solved.

Um 3530 I think. It's the one everyone else uses. The (IIRC) 6" long filter with the 3.5" inner diameter opening. $45 from Pep Boys, they ordered it for me and it arrived about a week later.
