Like most i feel that with the s/c extra wear comes with the territory. i ve seen supercharged/ turbocharged and even motors with NOS go beyond 100000 miles i ve also seen them blow in under 10000 the first and formost reason was how its driven

also mods like exaust and intakes do add more stress to a motor,it is however very minor in comparision to charging or using nos. with an intake or exaust you are allowing the motor to flow better which increases hp, with a charger or nos you forcing more air and fuel then a motor could normally ingest.

and for the comment on race car motors as i recall it was a few years ago but during the indy 500 there was a driver who was running a motor that already had 2 races under its belt (without being rebuilt) and i belive he placed in the top five....at the time it was big news as the commintators kept bringing it up and that they couldnt belive it held together for over three races

in the end i dont feel the s/c is completely to blame and if you install one you are taking the risk to blow the motor. but havent we seen many failures with out one as well? :p
