Seems like you want to blame something else and set yourself up for failure before even making a decision on something you "desire" to do, to join a service. Also looks like you are afraid of what others think if you fail because if you're drafted you "could say" it's not your fault that you failed.

It's called a fear of failure. Everybody has it but it comes down to how you deal with it to really do want you want in your life.
