Oh no, now I feel like I am getting old. Im closer to the cutoff for joing without the governments help then joining because I get drafted. However, if the papers appeared in the mailbox I would go. If it got to the point where I the draft was in effect and I was sure that I was going to get drafted, I would probably just go sign up with the Air Force. I have been thinking of it for quite some time.

I would move without thinking twice. I love our country. I think Saddam is an ass. However I have big dreams for my life, and no trigger-happy conservative is going to delegate my life. As a matter of fact anyone other than myself, and God, trying to delegate my life will have a different war on their hands.

My brother emailed a congress woman in CA about this situation - she said there's no need for a draft at this time.
I don't think it's right to draft when the country is so divided on this topic.
I, personally, would not dodge the draft. I am not convinced of the reasons we're in Iraq, but I would go if I had to. I would ask to do something medical - I'm going to start PA (physician assistant) school in the fall.
Also, I'd much rather be in Afghanastan. I feel much more threatened my Afghanis than I do Iraqis in terms of terrorism.
That's just one young man's opinion.

Seems like you want to blame something else and set yourself up for failure before even making a decision on something you "desire" to do, to join a service. Also looks like you are afraid of what others think if you fail because if you're drafted you "could say" it's not your fault that you failed.
It's called a fear of failure. Everybody has it but it comes down to how you deal with it to really do want you want in your life.
