Sorry Bret. I was unaware the Accusump only worked part of the time. I was actually thinking of one from summit made for the new 4.6 engines... They work whenever the key is on...

The reason I bought my car in the first place is to be different. I see cobra's every single day and am tired of them. My friend let me drive his cobra, sure it was fast, but also bulky. I don't see many svt contours, but when I do they stick out. With that said I am not ahppy with the stock performance of the svt, so I am getting the 3.0. Will it last as long as the 2.5, probably not but who cares. If I wanted raw power then I would have goten a cobra. -James I praise those who were the first to have the balls to put on the supercharger. It looks like I might be one of the first to have the 3.0, so hopefully it won't be too unreliable.
SVT with CE light mod and a camera mount. Naughty Pictures Why yes it is true, I am on my third engine.

I feel the same way about getting a mustang. I would have gotten one, but everyone has one and I like being different. Every car I have had, and every car I will get, will have mods. I enjoy installing this stuff just as much as the power boost. Even if I dont install mods, I enjoy just tinkering with stuff.
Not sure about all the oil problems, but I hope someone solves it eventually. Until then I am going to take it easy with the high speed runs.
I have run a 50 shot of NOS and had an UD pulley on my car for about 10,000 miles. The pulley would still be on the car If I didn't get the S/C. I understand that the S/C will reduce my engine life, as well as all the other stuff I have done to it, and I am not worried about it. If I was, I wouldn't have bought it.

Is a dry sump system practical for the 2.5? That is: is there one that will fit and is there room for it ? jj

Does anyone have a pic or any info on the Mirko pan, can something be fabricated using the stock pan? Is moddding the stock pan worth the time it is doable?

This is something I saw a while back on TV. I'm watching TNN, horsepower tv I think, and they're doing a thing on crank shafts. Probably the beefiest and most expensive one they brought out, had holes drilled in it...they said it had something to do with better oil flow/lubrication. I am just wondering if this could help the problem of oil starvation, even a little bit.

Like most i feel that with the s/c extra wear comes with the territory. i ve seen supercharged/ turbocharged and even motors with NOS go beyond 100000 miles i ve also seen them blow in under 10000 the first and formost reason was how its driven
also mods like exaust and intakes do add more stress to a motor,it is however very minor in comparision to charging or using nos. with an intake or exaust you are allowing the motor to flow better which increases hp, with a charger or nos you forcing more air and fuel then a motor could normally ingest.
and for the comment on race car motors as i recall it was a few years ago but during the indy 500 there was a driver who was running a motor that already had 2 races under its belt (without being rebuilt) and i belive he placed in the top five....at the time it was big news as the commintators kept bringing it up and that they couldnt belive it held together for over three races
in the end i dont feel the s/c is completely to blame and if you install one you are taking the risk to blow the motor. but havent we seen many failures with out one as well? :p
