I got a friend from work who also has a CSVT, I'll see if he's down for one as well. Should know I a day or so.

Speaking of debadging the trunk, how did you do it? It sounds easy but I have heard many horror stories about the fading paint underneath and such.

What I'd love to do is get the SVT badge off the trunk and replace the 24V DOHC badges on the side of the car with the SVT badges.

Just would like suggestions, I've heard to use fishing line with hair dryer or some stuff like that.

Hmm... don't put SVT badges over the DOHC badges. IMHO, I think it's overkill especially if you have a SVT badge int he rear, two on the sides and possibly one on the front.

The DOHC badges have a small hole behind them. The SVT badge in the rear does not. Fishing wire works best - heat it up if you have a heating gun. As far as fading or anything - I debadged my 1996 Contour when I first got her in 1998 and I didn't run into any problems. Just use some redue removal stuff (be very careful, something from an automotive shop will be better) and wax it.

THESE ARE THE INSTRUCTOINS I'VE POSTED IN THE PAST -

*** INSTALL ***

TOOLS:

1. two "really flat" flat head screw drivers. I recommend small ones

2. PATIENCE

3. JB Weld, Silicon Glue, RTV, any really strong ADHESIVE. I used Silicon Glue and RTV together and niether my front or rear emblem have EVER come off in over a year (with several automated carwashes even!)

STEPS:

Using one screw driver pry AROUND the Ford emblem on the chrome strip, with the other pry OUT the emblem. Do this with great PATIENCE, average time is 10-15 mins to get it off without scratching up your chrome strip.

Clean up the remaining adhesive from the recessed area for a smooth surface

Apply the adhesive to the BACK of the emblem or in the chrom strip. For best results use a CLEAR drying adhesive

The emblem are a very tight fit but there is less that 1/16" play top and bottom. If you're picky like me center it and leave the trunk OPEN for atleast an hour for it to cure

Let it fully cure over night...normally about 12-24 hours depending on the adhesive you used.

***************
Please don't remove your emblem yet since I won't be shipping anything out till mid to late June. Well you coul but you would jut have a eyesore oval hole.

***************
FOR CARE: Please clean regularly everytime you wash your car. Use a polishing cloth or towlet with a cuetip if tarnish is evident. Mine has yet to tarnish and I've had mine longer than anybody - It seems those in the northeast have experienced this more due to salt and other conditions exclusive to that area of the country - with proper maintence the emblems will look for years to come.

I do not make any kind of warranty other than for initial workmanship - each piece is checked for fitment and visual flaws after polishing - if you see something visually wrong please notify me immediatley and return the the return address on the envelope - I will ship out a new emblem upon receiving the old one.

********************************

I HAVE RECIEVED EMAIL by about 2 or 3 people in the past that have had their emblems STOLEN so I can't stress enough to use the strongest adhesive you can get!!! I know if someone really wanted it they could still take it but just protect your investment the best way you can.

I guess we're hovering around 9. I'm going to start on these and start accepting payment depending on how I think production is going. In a way, i'm reducing your wait time since I want to take payment 2 weeks before I ship them out.

The weather is rediculously hot so I limit myself to when I can work on these.

Thanks again people.

if it helps any...these emblems are the sh*T! i got one off nirish back in GB3 i believe and ive been completely satisfied and have had many comments on it. if you are luckynumber ten you will be glad you decided to go with it!

on a side note, i was runnin into problems with using the small flathead technique so to those of you that dont want the old ford badge anymore...just drill into it a little bit and then pull back and the whole thing will come out without risking dents to the outside oval.

hey nirish...are you staying in sac? im finally moving back to martinez in a few months

Not a problem (+$2)- only thing I would be concerned about is that it may not work for the same application since the Ford badge you have may be a different size.

The emblem I make is 3.75" x 1.5" These are approx dimensions.

I was after one without the oval background really, like Nu-Pro Racing wanted. Is there any chance of getting one of them instead then?

The oval one won't fit in the UK Ford emblem as it's not the right size, seems like position 10 is still up for grabs (sorry).
