Ok, I probably should have looked through the archives for this, but I am on my lunch break at work and do not have a lot of time. I have a 95 GL with the MTX-75. Now, I want a short shifter, I noticed that B&M made one for the 98-up Contour, Cougar, and the Focus. But not the 95-97 Contour. Is there anyway that I can simply drop it in or is there a slight modification that I should do to make it work? Also, I wanna get rid of that stupid lifty thing to put my car in reverse, any suggestions? I know this is a lot and I am sure I am forgetting something. If you have any information that can help my please reply or send me an email at:

Thanks soooooo much for any information. Again I should have done a search, but like I said before got a short lunch break. Thanks! - Matt

The only short throw you're going to get is if you cut down your stock shifter. I did it, and I love it. I took about 2-3 inches off that puppy. All it takes is a hacksaw (although a dremmel is ownage here) and a die to re-thread the end of it.

To get rid of the lock out, you have to pull the lockout cable up and secure it in some way, so that basicly, its like the lockout is always pulled up. I used the dremmel to cut a slit down the shifter shaft and wedge it in there, then used zip ties to keep it in place. Screwed on my knob and bingo!

Hmm...do you have any pics? Sounds interesting. I checked your website to see if you had any, but you didn't. Maybe a little how to guide is in order. Or, maybe I can start to harass B&M. -Matt
