so if i replace the urethane bushings with poly ones the clunk with go away??

i bought the brackets but i have been told by a local shop that they dont fit on my 99 svt....the gas tank is in the way.

What exactly does the sway bar do? I already have problems with my back end coming out so would this bar make it worse or better? I know it keeps the car flatter thru turns but do I want this, especially with such a jumpy back end?

I talked to a guy from SP yesterday and once again they have no bars. He said they don't know when more are coming. He also said that SP and BAT get tha bars from the same company in California, whenever they get around to making some. Should I be patient or should I try the SCA bar

With a Zetec contour you may not wanna mess with the sway bars too much. You put a big bar on the rear of the car and the car will be so tail happy you won't know what hit ya. With good springs and struts you should have a fine handling ride.

Answer: no, the words 'poly' and 'urethane' are combined to make 'polyurethane', the material that nearly all aftermarket sway bars come with.

Answers: yes, I used new SCA bushings and the clunk went away.

It is funny you say that because I was reading something today that said the same thing. It said to use the 22mm bar on the Duratech. Is there any bar that I could replace mine with? Maybe a 20mm

Whatever rows your boat, but if you are like me, dont wait for someone to get their act together - go with the competition.

I would suggest getting a feel for the car with the stock sway bars, and if it still understeers too much get a smaller front bar or disconnect the front bar or try a 95-97 SE Rear bar.

FWIW, I got the 19mm bar and urethane bushings. About two months ago the clunk came back. I loosened the nuts on the "end links" and retightened them and the clunk has been gone. Unfortunately it's back...due to the tonage I was hauling on the 3500 mile vacation.
