I am curious if anyone has tride or are currently using the weapon R headers? I did a search and nothing came up so I am wondering if anyone is using them. I am looking to buy a set of them but I am wondering what the quality is like. I see that they are stainless steel but I am curious as to if the quality is like the MSDS headers.

To make these headders they used one of my friends car form NECO.

He said it looked like to test fit, they lined it up by eye sight and said "yea that will fit." they were not even test fitted to the car.....i guess they have fixed a lot of the stuff with the headders since then, but i would not trust the quality.....i saw the set Weapon Rice gave him and they were very porly made. Also there knock offs of the MSDS...made with very thin stainless steel.a lot of design flaws.

I would stick to the MSDS headders and go with that...anything else hasn;t been proven IMO.

Everyone talks smack about them and they may deserve it, afterall they are a DIRECT ripoff of the MSDS headers, but to be honest, I've never heard one person whos actually owned them talk about them breaking. That is on this forum as well as several other contour/cougar forums.

I agree that no one has posted about failures, but no one has had them on for an extended period of time. I;d out good money that the coating on the Weapon Rs will be rusted badly after one harsh winter.

You also need to keep in mind that:
1. They are made of cheaper materials (longevity?)
2. Assumption can be made that welds are not up to MSDS levels
3. Fitment issues (see design, or lack thereof)
4. They have installation issues (O2 sensors)
5. And most importantly, why would you want to support a group that blatantly stole MSDS' design?

Spend a little more:
- get good fitment
- no design problems/O2 sensor issues
- a warranty
- quality customer service from Marty
- and you support the company that put all the time and effort into R&D.

I've not searched, but I don't even remember seeing anyone admit to using those headers. It's gonna be tough to even get a testimonial of someone that uses and likes them.

Quote from someone using them.

I don't want that person to be flooded with PMs or flamed so I did not post user name.

Quote:

These headers are built by Weapon-R, they are quality made and polished like the exhaust from Bosal. It includes a Y-Pipe that will interface with your existing extension pipe with catalytic converter. This setup does not include MIL eliminators so you'll need to build those to install these to keep the nasty CEL from coming on.

Same user states they will net:

How about 30HP and 20 ft.lb of TQ sound?

I think 30hp is being a little optimistic.
