Not sure how old you are, but if you remember the Pistons championship team, they established a reputation of being dirty players. The most minimal fouls turned into flagrant fouls. A little shove in the paint and suspensions and massive fines ensued. Establish and reputation and then you have to live with it.

Well, I think it's obvious that Detroit/LA would be the best matchup if the NBA had its way. There is nothing compelling about any other combination to get national interest. The Lakers clearly are more important than any other team.
